Issues I will address in congress.

Public Safety and Crime Prevention

Every District resident deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, on public transit, and in their home. While violent crime declined in 2024, public safety remains the top concern for voters. The approach is clear prevent violence, hold offenders accountable, and invest in solutions that work. Public safety depends on a police force that is well-resourced, well-trained, and trusted by the community. I will fight for support evidence-based public safety legislation.

Economic Affordability & Housing

Families and small businesses are being squeezed by rising costs and a slowing local economy. It’s time to put affordability and economic stability back at the center of our community’s future. I will work in congress to help pass bills that support families and small businesses financially.

DC Statehood and Autonomy

I will defend DC’s right to self-govern and advance statehood to ensure full democratic representation. Federal interference in local laws, policing, and courts undermines Home Rule and silences more than 700,000 residents. Making DC the 51st state would end taxation without representation and address long-standing racial and democratic inequities.

Education Fight

In D.C., we believe schools change lives. Even amid federal budget uncertainty, our commitment to students, educators, and families remains strong. I will protect school funding, support teachers, and ensure every student—no matter their needs or background—has the chance to succeed.

Justice, Safety, and Dignity for All

I’m committed to building a community where everyone feels safe and supported. I will protect immigrant families, LGBTQ+ and minority youth, and seniors from harm and discrimination, so everyone can live with dignity and peace.
